![]() ![]() Especially when you're in the middle of a war against the Persians who morph into England the next turn It has horrible pacing, and the culture jumping can be really jarring. ![]() The only true wish I have for the game is give us empire names, people complain a lot about swapping culture being a problem, which I disagree bc that’s the whole point of the game is to make your own culture through one’s in the humankind history, it keeps the game fresh with buildings & units, art style etc, but it does change the culture name every time you progress so it’s hard to always know what to call your other competitors, add empire names preselected or hand made, assign it to competitors and keep that throughout the game I think would eliminate that issue, but definitely recommend, and if not full price then for sure on a sale! The switching cultures, the actual, mini battles you have can become really interesting & always nice to watch due to the art style & the music, theirs a lot to like from my perspective, but their is also lots to question in a lot of people’s mind. I love the game tbh, and do recommend it, I play it on my channel right now as a staple to it & love doing it so far. I personally really enjoy Humankind, but I understand why others don't. Depending on your preferences, some of those things may have a bigger impact on your experience than others. Humankind does some things better than civilization, it does some things worse, and some things it just does differently. My recommendation would be to wait for it to go on sale (which should be very soon, steam's annual winter sale is coming up really soon) I never do that while playing civilization. I have found myself making decisions in Humankind that run contrary to my strategy, but just feel better from a moral and ethical perspective. It gives you more of a feeling of leading a people through history than just playing a game. The world of Humankind feels more alive and vibrant than Civilization. I'll admit that in terms of objective quality, any Civ game has Humankind beat.īut where Humankind does excell over Civ is in immersion. I won't pretend that Humankind is a polished, well balanced experience, because it really isn't. I'm not sure if it's because I got burnt out on Civ6 or if Humankind is actually better, but at the very least it's my preference.
